Christian New Book Release: Quilting Patches of Life

by April Gilford

quilting_patches.jpgQuilting Patches of Lifeis the newest book from Christian author Lori Wagner. The collection of inspirational stories is from real men and women from around the world and looks at the many ways God speaks to His people. Wagner is the founder of Affirming Faith and a member of the Faith Apostalic Church in Troy, Michigan. She also is also active in the National Day of Prayer Task Force, Faithwriters, the Society of Children’s Book Writers and Illustrators, and the International Thespian Society. Her latest book was just released in October 2007.

The book explores the connection of all the seasons and events of our lives — how the Lord quilts the fragments of our days into a lovely creation — a unique, functional work of warmth, beauty and purpose. The cheery days, the dark days, the boring beige days, God allows them all into our lives for a purpose.

Wagner’s website, Affirming Faith.com, includes more information about the book and the theme poem, as well as a blog about her activities and conferences. She has been interviewed on numerous occasions and you can read these interviews to learn more about her under the “Pressroom” link on the site.

Her book Gates and Fences: Straight Talk in a Crooked World, is now in its third printing. Written for teens and singles, the book has been highly praised by pastors, teachers and homeschool parents for its straight-forward look at the choices young people and singles must make.

Some of the “fences” covered are modesty, purity, and respecting authority. “Gates” are ways we interact with boundaries, such as early dating, entertaining temptation, our eyes, ears and mouths. Each chapter concludes with prayer, Q&A and a journaling page.

Wagner is currently working on two projects for middle schoolers, Gateway to the Sun and The Pirates of Castle Rock. She is available for speaking engagements for groups and organizations. Visit the contact page on her site to request an appearance or to send her comments and feedback.

About Life as a Christian Woman

Life as a Christian Woman explores Biblical truths as they apply to modern faith and the vital roles we can play in the body of Christ. Some topics are easy, such as Christ died for our sins. Others, like divorce, single parenthood, work, and submission to our spouses are more challenging. Then there are days we just need a good laugh with God. Together, we can learn practical faith in an impractical world.
