Prayer Help and Praise Offering

by April Gilford

Welcome to the Prayers and Praise section for Life as a Christian Woman. The power of intercessory prayer has been used since the earliest days of the Christian faith. By coming together to seek God, we are claiming Christ’s promise that “where two or three are gathered together in my name, there am I in the midst of them.” (Matthew 18:20)

God knows our hearts before we reveal them. He knows our needs and our desires before we do. By going before Him in prayer, we are actively asking for his guidance and his help. We may pray for ourselves or someone else. We may pray for our church or all churches. We may pray for our nation and our leaders. In any and all things, prayer should be our first action. God loves us beyond imagination, and He wants to be a part of even the smallest portion in our lives.

If you have a need you want others to pray for, leave a comment on this page. I will periodically update these to a new post. Sometimes the subjects we want to pray about may be sensitive or extremely personal. In that case, you can send a message just to me by using the “contact me” link at the right side of the page. I will pray over these concerns in private, or with your express permission will post it as an anonymous concern. You don’t have to include names or identifying information. God knows who you are and he knows why you are seeking Him. We will simply offer up an intercessory prayer for God’s hand in your life.

Many of my Christian friends have offered to visit this page throughout each week and include the concerns in their daily prayer lists. I urge you to do the same. By helping someone else, you may begin to find the help you need in your own situation.

A praise is simply telling God “thank you” for something He has done in your life or the life of someone you know. I always welcome praises, too. Let everyone know the wonderful gifts God has provided.

I will start this page with a prayer of my own for this endeavor:

pray05.gif Lord, I thank you for this day and this opportunity to come before you and ask your blessing. Your Word says we are to pray without ceasing, and that coming together in prayer brings Christ our Savior into our midst. Lead those who need your guidance to this page so we may come together in Christ. Touch our hearts with your love and our minds with your wisdom. Show us the needs in your kingdom that we might support each other, lift each other, and find joy together even in the midst of sorrows. When we share our burdens we each walk lighter on our journey to you. Only you have the power to bring good from all things, so we offer these prayers that your will be done and these praises to share your glory. Amen.

    Praise The Lord:

I’ve often heard different preachers say the reason why many christians fail, is because they try to do things in there own strength. In stead of depending on the Lord. How do you know when you are doing this. Because when you fail, you go to the Lord and you say ok Lord, forgive me and you try not to do that same thing again. I really need help in this area. Thank You

About Life as a Christian Woman

Life as a Christian Woman explores Biblical truths as they apply to modern faith and the vital roles we can play in the body of Christ. Some topics are easy, such as Christ died for our sins. Others, like divorce, single parenthood, work, and submission to our spouses are more challenging. Then there are days we just need a good laugh with God. Together, we can learn practical faith in an impractical world.
